These are the identical guitar-style tuning machines, manufactured by THE tuning experts at Gotoh for Deering Banjos, that are installed on "most" Deering Goodtime banjos (excluding special edition Goodtimes with the planetary pegs upgrade). Upon receipt of my Goodtime banjo several years ago, I almost immediately removed these great tuning machines in favor of your standard, run-of-the-mill 4:1-ratio tuning peg because, uh, because well, uh, OH yeah!, because of TRADITION! Yup, that's right, I went from a finely crafted, precision 15:1 enclosed-gear tuning machine to something with a 4:1 tuning ratio, which, at times, could try the patience of Job (you know, the Old Testament biblical guy) to accurately get in tune. Nobody said we banjo players were... Correction: Nobody said THIS banjo player was smart. :o/ Additionally, there's a reason why Nechville Banjos features guitar-style tuning machines on many of their upper-tier, super-expensive banjo models... because they WORK!
So, basically what you're getting here is a new-used set of four (4), chrome-plated Gotoh tuning machines in mint condition (and when I say mint, I mean MINT, brothers and sisters!) for just a tad more than HALF the price when purchased new from Deering Banjos (see the 'More Info URL' for additional pricing information).
Shipping is $11 for flat-rate USPS Priority Mail insured & tracked. Sorry, this sale is restricted to the contiguous 48 United States (i.e., "The Lower 48"), which means no sales to Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, or any foreign destinations.
