This all original and uncut Gibson prewar style 1 is a combination of two prewar style 1s put together many years ago.
First the pot: it is FON 133-14 which was shipped on September 23, 1937 to J.C. Sapp. The pot appears to be completely original and was originally part of a TB-1 and retains the original flange, tension hoop, hooks, arm rest, windowpane tailpiece and coordinator rod. The resonator matches the pot with the FON written in chalk at the neck and in the middle of the resonator.
The neck is from an original RB-1 FON 1346-3 which was shipped on May 7, 1935 to A.M. Penman & Co. In St. John’s, Newfoundland. As an export, the back of the peg head bears the “made in USA” stamp. The neck retains the original tuners, including fifth string friction peg, fifth string Pip, as well as original fingerboard with gulls and wings inlay. Unusually, it also has a Mastertone block at the 21st fret.
So here it is, an all original uncut style 1 with all the power of a prewar pot and original 5 string neck.
