This banjo is somewhat of a mystery. It appears to be a high level Recording king banjo that has been gold plated, inlaid with abalone, curly maple neck and resonator, and has an engraved tension hoop (like a granada). I've showed it to some other folks that think this could've been made by Crafters of Tennessee in the late 1990's. It has no serial number on it anywhere. So I'm not totally sure which is true, however, can vouch for this being a high quality built banjo that sounds very good, looks and plays great!
