***FOR SALE! Nechville Heli-Mount Open-Back Excelsior Frame, Orion Neck -- $1,795***
For your consideration is a custom Nechville open-back banjo featuring:
* Black Powder-coat Excelsior frame, machined from aerospace-grade aluminum
* Tropical hardwood Timber-Tronic tone ring (lightens the weight of the banjo by three pounds without sacrificing volume or tone)
* Removable (i.e., press fit) 3-D printed internal resonator (the black donut thingy in the photos)
* Amber Renaissance head
* Comfort Bevel armrest
* Custom-order Walnut neck with Nechville Clear-coat finish (unlike traditional lacquer finishes, the Nechville Clear-coat will not crack nor get sticky in high humidity situations!)
* Radius tropical Cocobolo wood fretboard
* Handsome Orion inlay pattern on the fretboard and peghead overlay
* New Schaller tuning pegs
* Superior 'Bump' hard-shell case in near-mint condition
* Nechville 'T' wrenches (2 each) for head tension adjustments and frame disassembly
* Additional ceramic and stainless steel Cyclotronic ball bearings to further customize the tone of your banjo
NOTE: There is one 'oops' in this banjo of which most would consider it a minor flaw. There is a small dent in the finish of the heel. A photograph with a red arrow pointing to this flaw better illustrates this flaw, and as I said, most would consider this minor and hardly worth mentioning.
Reason for selling: Well, it's the same reason I've stated for selling my previously large collection of banjos these past couple of months -- arthritis and peripheral neuropathy. These two 'fiends' are robbing me the ability to play stringed instruments (and they told me these would be my Golden Years... huh, they lied!). This Nechville is the last in the long line of banjos I've been letting go. The remaining three banjos I still own will be passed down to family members for posterity's sake... and who knows, maybe one of them will actually learn to play the darn thing! (but I ain't holding my breath)
As stated, the sale price is $1,795, plus an additional $195 for shipping, insurance and tracking via US Postal Service (USPS). If the actual cost of shipping is less than $195, you will be reimbursed the balance via PayPal or personal check (your choice); however, if the cost is more than the stated $195, I will eat the difference... and I HATE eating the difference.
If interested, please contact me through The Banjo Hangout. And as always, thanks for looking!
