Here's a fresh-to-the-market TB-11 from the family of the longtime owner in Pennsylvania. This one is not numbered. The flange has been buffed and replated, possibly in chrome. I can't say for sure whether this is a prewar flange or one from the bowtie era, but the Doehler stamp is present. The armrest is a modern replacement. One tuner bushing is a replacement. Everything else appears original including the silk-plush-lined #509 Geib and Schaefer "red line" case. The rim is only about 3/32" out of round. There is no decal inside the rim, which I have seen on other original style 11 banjos. The fingerboard binding on the first string side is showing some separation from the neck but remains intact except for very small places at each end. There is slight lifting of the peghead veneer in one place. There are some splits to resonator veneer, as frequently seen on these banjos. The rim thickness below the flange is approximately .580" and the tension hoop features a beveled inner bottom edge as often seen beginning in the late 1930s.
