Nechville Nextar, fancy grade figured maple neck and resonator. The neck inlay is the very attractive Cascade pattern. The figured maple and the Cascade inlays are both upgrades to the standard Nextar appointments. The armrest is a matching maple comfort bevel model.
The wooden tone ring, on the Nechville Cyclotronic ball bearings, makes this banjo very light in weight, while producing remarkable tone and volume. Fingerboard is radiused and the the frets are the customary Nechville wide, low profile frets. Nothing plays easier and more uniformly than a Nechville. Spikes at 7, 8, 9 and 10.
The pictures of the volute area of the neck may or may not indicate a line in the finished. This can be felt slightly, but is not a crack. I mention this in the spirit of full disclosure. I've played this banjo quite a while and am convinced it is a slight finish issue. The price reflects this, otherwise the price would be higher.
The case is a top of the line TKL, hard foam case, with back carry straps. This case will rival a conventional hardshell case in protecting the banjo.
