Description
This was made in Japan probably in the early 1980's. For the money this banjo is exceptional.
The neck and resonator are both curly maple and the fretboard is rosewood with a wreath inlay. There is binding on each side of the neck and resonator.
The hardware is nickel and all original. The flange is a 2 piece flange and this has a Mastertone style tone ring. This banjo is legitimately a quality banjo. This is all original and includes a foam shell hard case.
Condition
The banjo is in great shape. I want to mention there is some cloudiness and fogging in the finish on the resonator. This is mostly on the top and the side of the top. That is purely cosmetic and not really that bad.
We took the banjo apart and detailed everything. The metal has been buffed and polished and the finish waxed. The fretboard has been cleaned and oiled. This has clean frets and the fretboard is in good shape. The banjo has spikes at frets 7 and 9. The banjo is definitely in good shape and has been professionally prepared in our shop. The case is in good shape also.
Set Up
This has a new Huber frosted head which is set to 90. The bridge is a Kat Eyes and this has new Huber strings. This banjo is truly a quality instrument and is going to serve someone well.
