This 1929 Gibson Style 3 F.O.N. 9355-28 left the factory as a tenor and has been converted to a 5-string by Bill Hayes of Maine. Bill made the neck from some fantastic old growth mahogany and the profile is as good as any neck I've played. The 9355 batch were originally 2-pc flange banjos and this one was later fitted with a prewar one-piece-flange. The hardware is all prewar and in fantastic condition. The tone ring installed is a Jerry Sloan no-hole and the video speaks for itself. The original resonator needed to be re-skinned and Bill also did that perfectly. The banjo shows very little fret wear and ships in a Superior case. If you have any questions or desire additional pictures, don't hesitate to ask.
