Washburn Banjeurine Serial # 219. 12" plastic head. 17 fret one piece neck, 10.25 inches nut to edge of pot, 19.25 inches nut to bridge. Ebony fingerboard with simple MOP inlays. Star inlay on peg head and an inlay on the heel plate as well. The banjo has geared Grover "pancake" tuners and a modern geared fifth string tuner ( all were on the banjo when I bought it ). Hardware- This banjo has its original ( and rare ) talon style tailpiece. It features the " Globe and Sleeve" style bracket shoes. All are there but one shoe is missing its "sleeve". Most ( but not all ) of the hooks match. The dowel was reconstructed to set the neck at the proper angle. The bond of the additional wood has been strengthened by hardwood dowels. The original trademark and serial number were saved and attached to the new wood. The serial number 219 is also stamped into the neck, underneath the fingerboard at the heel. This banjo is set up with Nylgut strings but it can easily handle metal strings as well. It plays true all the way up the neck. There is no case for this instrument but extra care will be taken during packing.
