Nechville's Athena resonator banjo was built with lightness and comfort in mind.

Like the popular Saturn model, the Athena is an ideal instrument for players who want a professional quality bluegrass banjo without the added weight that comes with a traditional metal tone ring.

This Athena weighs 7.6 lbs, which is roughly 35% to 45% lighter than a standard tone ring banjo.

Its secret is the "Timber-Tronic" wooden tone ring, which provides great tone at a fraction of the weight. Read more about the Timber-Tronic tone ring here.

In addition to its minimal weight, the Athena features compound radius fingerboard with wide frets for amazing comfort and playability.

Like all Nechville banjos, the Saturn comes equipped with their patented Heli-Mount system for even head tension and quick, simple adjustments.
