Bacon Professional Tenor Serial #7198 made in Groton, Conn. 17 fret five piece neck, 12.75 inches nut to pot 20 inches nut to bridge. 11 inch Remo plastic head, 24 brackets.Tailpiece of unknown make - not sure if original.Geared tuners with small diameter shaft were added ( no drilling done to peg head ). This banjo features the famous original Bacon "internal resonator ". It plays well and will hold its own in a session. It is currently set up to play Irish music with a low G tuning. The 17 fret neck makes it easier to reach that high B on the 7th fret. The only issues I can see with this banjo are the fret and fingerboard wear, especially on the second and third frets. Please see photos. The instrument will be shipped in a hard shell case. I believe it to be the original case but cannot validate that claim. I have enjoyed playing this banjo for many years but find myself with too many ( if that is possible ) tenor banjos and I have to start to empty the closet.
