Here we have a completely original 1993 Rich and Taylor JD Crowe Deluxe Model. These banjos were produced in the early 1990s by Greg Rich and Mark Taylor and it has been said that only 15 of this Deluxe model were ever produced. The banjo is antique/satin gold plated over a mahogany neck and resonator. The tonering is the Original Kulesh Big 10, marked R-T #103. It weighs in at a whopping 3lb 5oz. There are very good and underrated rings. The armrest is Style 5 engraving and the tension hoop features the Granada pattern. Unfortunately, the original tailpiece had begun to crack in half so an appropriate Prucha gold plated replacement was located and bead blasted at Steve Huber's shop to match the original satin gold. There is barely any difference between the original and the new one. The banjo features the "Black Jack" inlay pattern on a top tension style headstock. The tuners are the original 5 Star Planet with faux MOP buttons. The original case is also included. This is an almost mint condition banjo is all respects. There is a small bit of fret wear, but not past there 5th fret because there is no money there....
The banjo has a small bit of interesting lineage having been sold by James Dee Crowe himself to a neighbor who kept it until the end of his life. The label is signed by Greg Rich, Mark Taylor and THE MAN himself, JD Crowe. This is also a professional banjo in every respect and a professional sound clip is available for any interested parties.
