When Martin came out with the Golden Era series, they quickly became favorites among vintage guitar players. With specs returning to the ‘prewar’ era (later these morphed into the ‘Authentic’ series) including a V shaped neck with wider string spacing, ebony on the board and bridge and the classic herringbone trim. Most importantly, using Brazilian rosewood for the back & sides and Adirondack spruce for the top wood and forward shifted scalloped bracing. This is #237 of 500 and rumor has it that it was hand-picked out of the batch by Dick Boak. A true ‘banjo killer’ this has all the boom you would expect with overall balanced frequencies. Mild to moderate play wear with no major dings or scratches. Comes w/HSC
