I made this banjo several years ago and I liked it so much I kept it. I have another banjo nearing completion so it's time for this instrument to go out into the wide world. This has been one of my main banjos for the past several years and it has some wear from play and handling. Everything is functional and it is a solid reliable banjo.
This instrument is a bit different than usual. It uses a "hoop-on-stick" design somewhat different from traditional Vega style banjos. It is short scale at 22 inches. The 5th string begins where the 7th fret would be, if there were frets. I like having a shorter fifth string. A shorter fifth string results in less tension on the string and makes it a little less bingy.
