This is a one owner Fender Allegro Folk open back 5 string banjo purchased in 1973, built in Santa Ana, CA. It's in Excellent +++ condition, not mint but barely played. It's nearly the same as a Gibson RB-170 open back with a tone hoop but with a maple neck instead of mahogany. The Allegro's is 1/4" nickel plated brass. The main difference is the neck is maple with a bound rosewood fretboard; the action's perfect. The pot is maple. It has a 26 7/8" scale with a 1 1/4"nut. The Elton and Grover tuning pegs work perfect. The original hard case is in good working condition.
