This is a Gibson style wreath inlay, mahogany neck. The fingerboard is rosewood. The heel is cut for a one piece flange, as you can see in the photos. The lag bolts are 1 and 1/4" apart, center to center, as is the standard spacing.
The craftsman who built this neck is Mark Simon, who was the luthier in residence, so to speak, for Mandolin Brothers, in NY. I had Mark do work for me in the early 1980's.
This neck is in very good playing condition and has been played a good bit, but not abused. The frets are in nice condition, with only the second fret showing discernable wear. There are areas of wear on the back of the neck, shown in the photos. Overall the finish is good, with some nicks as you can see in the photos.
I've played this neck quite a bit recently. It is very well shaped and extremely comfortable. It notes true in all areas of the fingerboard. Spikes are at 7 and 9.
