This is an amazing 2003 Janish top tension Virgin 5 that is every bit the banjo that it looks to be....Pavel Janiss built this in 2003 and is serial #190....it has a Ptacek/Prucha tone ring and i am not sure if the other parts are Prucha or not but there is a good chance they are.....Just as Prucha banjos are Chech built Janish are also.....this is a walnut banjo with abalone trim with maple binding......the components are gold and gunmetal/Anthracite plated nickel and are heavy engraved!!.....an absolutely gorgeous combination.....the only issues i feel needs mentioning is some finish checking as seen on the neck...other than that it is in wonderful condition.....when Pavel signed the labels he used a type pen/ink that has faded on the labels somewhat and i'm sure he unknowingly knew this would happen...but i do know that it was built in 2003 and is serial #190 as stamped on the rim next to neck heel (see picture)....this will come in the very nice H&H hand made case also built in the Chech republic..Sorry but the strap shown is not included...will sell for $5500 or i would consider upper end trades on nice Gibson conversions...a style 6 checkerboard or sparkle.....Granada....top tension great lakes...or other interesting banjo trades such as Huber VRB-G,Yates 558,9584,Carnegie,Lil banger.... also possibly trades on guitars or mandolins ? ....thanks
