Fender Artist Banjo, #B 1500. Unfortunately, one cannot accurately determine the date of construction from the instrument number. The data does not exist to allow this.
Condition: The banjo is in excellent plus condition with no rust, dings, scratches, etc.
Body: 11” diameter head with 24 lugs on a chrome tension hoop. Chrome arm rest and tailpiece. Maple-based bridge with Ebony saddle. One-piece chrome flange. Walnut pot with dual metal coordinator rods, an angled tone ring and a label with the model, serial number, and placer of manufacture. Double-bound walnut resonator with four thumbscrews.
Neck: Nicely rounded 5-string walnut neck with maple strip down the back. Bound rosewood fingerboard with fancy pearloid inlays and a 1 3/8” nut. Machine tuners with pearloid buttons, 27” scale length. Has 5th string attached slide capo.
Playability/Sound: Fender Artist Banjos are great sounding vintage instruments. The walnut construction and angled tone ring give the instrument some nice volume and pick attack. The rounded neck is exceptionally comfortable.
Case: Includes original hardshell case.
Weight: 12lbs, 5.5oz.
Reason for selling: I had purchased several banjos thinking I would learn to play them and never did. I am not interested in trades.
