For sale is a Cox Carolina curly maple resonator banjo in very good (not mint) condition. Cox Banjos are well known as having their own parts with the exception of the head, tuners, and bridge (on this one). The Carolina model had its own type of tone ring and rim with a ring that is slightly modified compared to a flat head. This gives it a lot of volume and really great tone without getting into the archtop sound. Look closely at the pics of the edge of the head and you can see the slight angle and can also see how it fits underneath. There is a bit of shallow dinking on the lower part of the back of the neck, likely from being put into the case with the strap underneath but no cracks or repairs on the heel or volute/behind the nut. It looks to me like it has had a fret replacement at some point given their condition.
A hard case in "good" condition comes with it, just need to know that it has a 3 X 4 spot where the black covering is missing from the lid but the wood is just fine. All latches work just fine and otherwise it looks pretty good. Thanks for looking and feel free to ask questions.
