The conversion involved building an RB-1 neck, using 40 year old hard rock maple that had been stored in Jimmy Cox's basement for over 35 years. This wood has outstanding tonal qualities. I used a Indian Rosewood fingerboard with the correct Bats and Gulls inlay, and finished it I also added a second binding to the resonator, which because it was a very early 1PF style 1, only had a single binding on it. I tinted the binding to match the existing binding. perfectly.
The pot assembly is 100% correct and completely pre-war. The tone ring is a Huber HR30, 20 hole. The combination of that tone ring, the 9541-40 rim and the 40+ year old hard rock maple, create a tonal quality and power that is right up with anything that I have heard in the past. Spikes on 7,8,9
