This is my original and quite rare bluegrass concert poster from 1972 just after Bill Monroe and Lester Flatt reconciled their decades long feud at the Bean Blossom Festival in June of 1971 and would even consider playing along side each other which makes it among the very few examples that still exist of them shown together appearing on the same concert poster and sharing the same stage of that reconciliation era. This concert, which was held on the campus of Western Carolina University in Reid Gymnasium located in Cullowhee, North Carolina, was organized by then WCU student and now Grammy Award winner banjo artist Marc Pruett currently of the Balsam Range Bluegrass Band and former member of the James Monroe Band, Ricky Scaggs, The Whites, The Southern Lawmen, Rock Springs Reunion and many more. At the moment, there are only two of these concert posters known to be left and the other was sold at live auction approx. 15 years ago and it's whereabouts is unknown. Archives of Western Carolina University recalls this event in the original photos from the concert and print out shown in the photos provided. Also shown is an email from Marc Pruett to me recalling this concert and his fun time that night with Bill and Lester. I've had this poster on display in my home and venues for many years and decided to offer a few things from my collection. Asking price is just taking a best offer over a little while or trade for a simple good playing old Nylgut string banjo. The poster is still in very good condition with strong and varied colors made of sturdy cardboard stock showing age related light scattered edge toning and wear, displays well and a great piece of bluegrass history. For shipping and safety, it will have to be taken out of the heavy glass and wood frame and shipped flat. Poster size is 22" wide by 28" long. Any interest or questions, please give me a shout....thanks.
