This is a very unique Style-2 parts banjo assembled from some of the best stuff available.
It consists of a very fine Style-2 replica maple neck by Tim Davis. It has a beautiful rosewood fretboard with Nick Lucas-style MOP inlay.
The flathead-style woody block rim was constructed by Companion Banjos. It produces great tone up and down the neck with plenty of volume for pretty much any situation.
The resonator is mahogany with hi-gloss dark finish. It's very well constructed and has three (3) wall lugs. Pretty sure it's a USA made product.
The tailpiece is a pre-war patent Grover that's been drilled for the 3rd string and sports a newer flip-lid cover.
The tension hoop is from an early 60s Gibson Bowtie.
The one-piece flange appears to me to be a Recording King. It does have a couple of minor flaws in the plating. No biggie.
Planetary tuners are the high quality Waverlys sold by Stew-Mac.
The remainder of the hardware (hooks, nuts, co-rods, etc.) could be either Prucha or RK stuff. From appearance, I honestly think the armrest is older than either.
I have a video of this banjo being played at a festival that I can text to you.
If you're wanting a great playing and sounding banjo that won't break the bank or back, here it is!
