A friend inherited this 1950s Mastertone 5-string conversion, serial number 6-5650-57. I've been unable to determine the exact year, but based on the serial number, the pot is from 1954-56. It likely started out as a PB or TB 100. The 5-string neck is from an unknown maker, and the the original archtop was replaced with a 20-hole, flathead tone ring. The neck is on the narrow side, perfect for someone with smaller hands (1 3/16" at nut, 1 7/8" where it meets the pot). It's in great condition with no discernible fret wear. The action is low, and the banjo plays in excellent tune up and down the neck. The rim is sound, and the metal on the pot shows normal age patina that should respond well to cleaning. There are a few battle scars on the resonator but no cracks or other issues. It has a bone nut, Snuffy Smith bridge, and spikes at 7, 9, and 10. Includes a TKL hardshell case, capo, and a set of D'Addario J-60 strings. Will consider trading for a similar value openback 5-string. Happy to answer questions. Here's a video of the banjo
