I am offering for sale my Recording King Madison RK36 Mahogany 5-String Resonator Banjo (including the original hardshell case, a compensated Snuffy Smith bridge, the original bridge and a black Lakota Leathers strap, which I installed). This model typically sells new for about $1,150. I am offering mine in almost new condition for much less.

I have bought this banjo new a little over a year ago. The serial number is A19080196. I have played only in my home and, as you can see, it is in great, almost new condition. I have changed the original bridge to a compensated Snuffy Smith bridge (both are included) and replaced the strings the banjo came with to the slightly heavier Deering Lights (10's). You can easily switch back to 9's if you prefer slightly lighter gauge strings.

The Recording King Madison RK-R36 is for every banjo player looking for a high-quality, great-sounding instrument that won't break the bank.

The RK-R36 is built with a Mastertone-style bell brass cast tone ring, one-piece flange and a select mahogany resonator and neck.

The 24-hook brass tension hoop allows the head to be adjusted to the perfect tension, and the nickel-plated hardware matches vintage Mastertone-style specs at a fraction of the price.

If you are looking for the Mastertone sound but don't have thousands to spend on a banjo, or don't want to take you expensive banjo to jams or on the road, the RK36 Madison is a great option.
