This banjo is powered by the highly regarded Yates no-hole ring and rim. The neck and resonator work was done by Ron Coleman, in 2016-2017. It is a Style 1 Gibson peghead and fingerboard inlay pattern.
The neck is more of a stained satin finish than a speed-neck. The pearl nut and fifth string pip are a nice touch and are shown in the photos. The resonator is highly figured maple with a sunburst finish that matches the neck.
The shape of the neck is extremely nice. The dimensions across the the fingerboard and fingerboard to the back of the neck are perfect, in my opinion. I commend Ron Coleman for this fine example of his work.
Interior photos show the Yates no-hole unplated tone ring, perfectly fit to the Yates rim. Also, one of the finest heel to pot fits I've ever seen. Maximum contact at the heel and pot is critical to the sound and performance of a banjo.
All the metal hardware is in extremely nice condition, with only incidental blemishes.
Photos also show spikes at 7, 8, 9, and 10. Tuners appear to be Waverly with a Schaller fifth. Grained ivoroid buttons are on all five tuners. The Presto tailpiece has the script Gibson on the back end.
Volume, tone, responsiveness are all present in this banjo. Hardshell, archtop case included.
