If you want an affordable Pre- War, you'll definitely like this banjo. And, a solid investment.
Excellent, Original 1930 Gibson TB2 OPF Conversion 5 string banjo
Original work done June, 1992, by Jim Yarboro of Gun Barrel City, TX, as a gift to a local doctor from his family. *I traded for 6 years to find one of this caliber. The late Robin Smith built the beautiful mahogany neck with great playing low profile specs and hearts & flowers inlays. 2 way truss rod. Set up is perfect. His necks are next to none and it is a real privilege to own one. The pot is all original and shows normal age patina. Pre- EPA head is from the original conversion. The ring is an older 20 hole nickel by Steve Ryan. It has a 5/8" Scorpion bridge. The original Presto Tail piece is punched under the cover so not to show. This banjo is as good as I have found, needs nothing, and will also include the 5 original Grover patented tuners, the original tenor neck, the original 5/8" bridge and the nice Gibson HSC it came in from 1992.
**I'm not anxious to sell this banjo but it needs to be in a more advanced player's hands. There is no hype about it. You will love it, no doubt!
I will agree to ship but only with the neck removed. *I would prefer a cash, local sale obviously.
Please call me directly if you have an interest. I'll be happy to answer any questions or send specific photos. The price listed is my final and you'll not likely find a better one for it.
