Original owner and kept in the case when not playing. Excellent condition, with a some light scratches on the resonator and hardware, and at the tuning head. Some slight discoloration on the armrest and flange. Purchased new in 2003, and very light playing for past 10 years.
Original Deering hard shell case, without shoulder strap, and with improved Deering carrying handle.
It has a new Deering banjo head, set up with a drum dial indicator, and the frets were recently dressed by a professional luthier.
Mahogany resonator and neck, with an ebony fretboard
Headstock and fretboard inlays
5th string capo spikes at the 7, 9, 10 frets
Kershner style adjustable tail piece
3 ply maple rim and nickel plated arm rest, hooks, hoop and flange, with a bell bronze tone ring.
This is a musician level instrument, with excellent tone, intonation, and playability. It is a wonderful banjo, but I have acquired a vintage Gibson pre-war conversion, and I don’t have a need for two.
