This TB-1 is listed in both Banjophiles and earnestbanjo.com/wp/gibson-tb-1-9539-54/ as well. The F.O.N. 9539-54 puts this one right around 1929. The resonator is single bound being a transition model. The flange disintegrated years ago and has been replaced with a vintage plated flange from Steve Huber. The original tension hoop was broken and has a solid repair (included in the sale) and a Prucha pot metal hoop currently installed. The rest of the hardware is prewar and the "fat" rim measuring .630 remains un-cut retaining the 1/4/" brass hoop. The beautiful curly maple neck is by Don Bryant and has hand cut RB-1 style inlays from Clifford Seals on a Brazilian fret board. The tailpiece is a Grover Presto punched by Jerry Keys. This banjo sounds tremendous as you can hear in the video. If you have any questions or desire more pictures, don't hesitate to ask. Thanks for looking!
