This banjo, serial number 9488-66, is a 1929 fat-boy TB-3. The banjo has a reproduction 5 string neck made from old top growth mahogany which is lighter than your standard mahogany neck wood. The neck was made by me and features a beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and a nut and pip made from 25,000 year old mastodon/mammoth ivory found in the Yukon river bed of Alaska.

The pot assembly is 100% all original pre-war hardware with the flange having been a regular pre-war flange that was cut to fit the fat-boy rim as the original one disintegrated. the original 40 hole archtop has had a spanner piece of aircraft grade aluminum bent and fit to the outside lip of the tone ring to just lift the head off the inside lip of the tone ring and giving the banjo a wonderful flathead sound.

This is a great pre-war banjo and exhibits the normal wear that you would see on a banjo of this age. Comes with a hard shell case.
