This banjo was put together using an unfinished neck and fretboard with an unfinished rim purchased on Ebay and then fitted with all new parts. You can listen to this banjo by clicking on the link below. The tune is familiar (Golden Slippers) and played in the clawhammer style.
The malple neck has new planetary tuners, a rosewood fretboard with mop position dots, bone nuts, frailing scoop and a 24 1/2" scale. The medium steel strings sit on a 5/8" bridge. The string action is 3mm above the 12th fret. The neck is straight and true up and down the fretboard with no string buzzes The neck to pot fit is tight and secure.
The rim is maple with birdseye maple veneer. There are a two places on the inside and one place on the outside where the veneer has "popped" or cracked. These have been filled
and colored to match. The pot has all new metal parts and a 1/4" Remo top frosted head that sits on a round rod steel tone ring. The banjo weighs in at 5.5 lbs.
