This Earl Scruggs model Gibson is number 3419 from 1998. It's a well known fact that the late 90's were a great period for Gibson banjos. This banjo has "Gibson" in all the right places including the original "The Gibson" tone ring and flange. The Earl Scruggs model came from the factory with Keith d-tuners and an ebony fretboard with hearts & flowers inlay. This Scruggs has new frets so it's ready to go for many years of playing time. The curly maple neck and resonator are beautiful and at some point Earl himself signed the inside of the reso. This banjo has 5th string spikes at the 7th and 9th frets and ships in its original case.
