Original Whyte-Laydie No.2 I purchased the banjo 15 years ago from Adam Hurt. He used it to record on 13 of the tracks on his first CD “Intrigue.” The banjo has a sweet tone. I've played it in many an old time jam, church activities and in a banjo balm series of social media postings. It has the patina of a century old instrument. There is finish wear on the neck around the first five frets and up the neck. Adam liked playing where a scoop is on modern banjos. There is no appreciable fret wear. It notes true up the neck and I think my short Youtube clip will demonstrate this on "Baptist Shout." It has a skin head, No Knot tailpiece and a hot dog style armrest. Serial # 38550. Pot size is 10 15/16. Adam provided a detailed letter of provenance which comes with the banjo. I have really enjoyed owning a banjo from one of my banjo heroes, Adam Hurt, but I feel the time is right to extend the stewardship of this grand vintage instrument to another player.
