1925 Gibson tb-3 banjo in very good condition. Serial # 8166-13. I'm a guitar collector that got this a few months ago, so my knowledge is rather mediocre. I've had some input regarding the banjo by a few more knowledgeable people. I'll do my best to describe this beautiful mostly original banjo. Ball bearing Mastertone . At some point recently, it was restored by a Sacramento foothills luthier Renee . I'm told she's a well known banjo restoration tech. Likely the finish was restored. The neck is in excellent condition. I am told there's only a handful of these tb-3 models with the rare block inlay on headstock. These supposedly were made for exported models, mostly Canada. It appears that the plating may also have been replated, but I can't confirm this except to say it's very shiny and new looking. Also, it appears at some point someone likely added diamond like inlays on frame, shown in pictures. These are riveted in. The tuners have been replaced, but original grovers are included and look to be in ok shape. The resonator appears to have suffered some straight cracks, which have been repaired. The original presto tailpiece was likely replaced by the waverly model. Frets are nice . Plays well. Comes with what looks like original hardshell case. I may be open to trades for guitars. Many more pictures available. Asking $1,500 . Thank you
