The banjo itself does not have chalk #'s on resonator - but grease pencil # there (#8739-28)
The neck and heel do show some signs of wear, although not bad. Thin frets with very little wear. The armrest shows signs of wear and the resonator has a few buckle scratches.
Definite prewar tone! Will make excellent conversion to 5-string! I was going to convert it but didn't get around to it as I have too many banjo's to mess with!
Also have a 5-string neck available for purchase if interested.
As far as I know everything is original (case has "old" smell)
