Up for sale is my 1930 Style 4 - 1pc. flange Gibson banjo.
Sent this banjo to Steve Huber who fitted his vintage flathead tone ring on it. He had then had Arthur Hatfield build a 5-string neck for it. Neck is virtually brand new and comes with Keith D tuners as well.
Mr. Hatfield did a fantastic job matching the binding color on the neck to look like the yellow amber color of binding on resonator (from age).
Banjo comes with his Huber bridge. This Style 4 is walnut and chrome. Steve Huber did say the flange and tension hoop have been replaced. Also comes with original tenor neck with original (vintage) Grover pancake tuners, original arch-top tone ring from 1930 and a good hard-shell case.
- Tenor has #50 in the heel
- Tenor banjo neck, shell and rim numbers all match
There are small buckle scratches on resonator, but overall banjo condition is excellent.
The marquetry on resonator is beautiful! Banjo definitely has the "prewar" sound!
