This is a stunning Vintage Ibanez Artist that is Blonde, Near Mint and Made in Japan. This has been inspected and set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia.

Description

Japanese Instrument Manufacturers in the 1970's experienced a lawsuit from American Manufacturers due to the Japanese copies being so good they were hurting USA music sales. The Ibanez Artist series was the top of the line and this is a pristine example of one of those that also is in the more rare and desirable blonde finish. I would absolutely prefer this banjo to a Gibson RB250 of the same era.

This has a thick multiply Maple shell with a Maple neck and resonator that have some birdseye in the grain. The hardware is chrome. This has a rosewood fretboard with a Wreath inlay pattern. Each side of the neck and resonator have RB800 style binding which looks really classy. This has an original Clamshell tailpiece with the Ibanez logo and an original Gibson style armrest. The banjo also has a full size tone ring which makes a HUGE difference in the sound of this. This banjo is absolutely an instrument that can be used professionally and has a tremendous amount of tone. This is all original and also includes a very clean original Hardshell Case and Hang Tag.

Condition

This banjo is Near Mint. The hardware looks new and is shining so bright it is borderline blinding. The wood and finish look fantastic with basically no evidence of this being even held. The fretboard is super clean with near perfect frets. We oiled the fretboard and this has been professionally set up as well. On top of this the original case is remarkably clean. These old Japanese cases are notorious for being trashed and this is in very very good shape. This has spikes in the 7th and 9th frets. This banjo was clearly lightly used and very well taken care of.

Set Up

This has been professionally set up at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia. This has a new Remo frosted head which is set to 90 on a drum dial. The bridge is set with correct intonation. The strings are new Huber Truetone .10 gauge strings and this is set up to play great!!! This is a stellar player on top of having a fantastic sound.

This is a beautiful example of a Vintage Blonde Japanese Ibanez Artist Banjo and these do not come up for sale like this often.
