Newly hand crafted Myrtlewood and walnut open back 5 string banjo all set up and ready to play. You can listen to a couple of tunes played on this banjo by clicking on the links below. First tune is "Devils Dream" in the key of A and played in 3 finger bluegrass style. Second tune is "West Fork Gals" and played in clawhammer style. This custom banjo is unique and one of kind.

The rim is block constructed from myrtlewood and has a walnut rim cap. All metal parts are new. The tone ring is a 1/4" round brass rod. The head is a top frosted Weatherking.
The neck was crafted from a single piece of myrtlewood and has walnut "ears" on the peghead. A non adjustable 1/4" steel truss rod is embedded in the neck. MOP inlays decorate the fretboard and peghead. The scale is 26 1/4". The string action is 3 mm above the 12th fret and the medium gauge strings sit on a 5/8" bridge. The fretboard is 1 1/4" wide at the nut and 2" wide at the end. The neck to pot fit is secure and snug. The geared tuners are new and have ivoroid buttons. The banjo weighs in a 5.5 lbs.
There is no case, but the banjo will be packed carefully and shipped insured.
