Here's a tremendous banjo using some Prewar Gibson wood and metal. The banjo was put together by Don Bryant. The flange, tailpiece, armrest, thumb screws, and wall lugs, are all original prewar and the rest of the hardware including the pot metal tension hoop are Prucha. The Prewar Style 1 resonator has seen quite a bit of use and has had work done inside the sidewall (see picture) but all is hidden inside and totally stable. The F.O.N. 157 can clearly be seen in the reso. The rim is a Gibson made Oriole that was turned for a flathead ring by Don. The tone ring is a 20-hole Sloan with nickel plating. The neck was inspired from an original Gibson neck with the Top Tension shape and Hearts and Flowers fret board. This neck was also made by Don Bryant from straight-grain maple with a Brazilian fretboard. A PRE-EPA head is also installed along with an after-market Mastertone label. Fret wear is minimal and it ships in a hard case.
