EDIT 9/25/20: I forgot to say that I will consider reasonable offers, and I am also considering possibly sending it to Elderly for a consignment sale (but not my first choice).
I am somewhat reluctantly offering For Sale my Ode 6505 Model C serial number 12-80-79.
This serial number makes it one of the very last (if not THE last) Ode banjos made back in 1980. I've never heard of a higher serial number, but the experts tell me there is no way to know.
This banjo was inherited by me from my father back in 2014 (along with his '63 Gibson Mastertone) and has been stored in my office in the original HSC (also in excellent condition).
It has apparently been VERY lightly played...my Dad always played his Gibson from what I could tell. I didn't even know he had the Ode until after he had passed.
I have not had time to learn to play banjo yet, but it's on my list. I have several nice vintage guitars that I play and I have decided that I don't need two banjos. Keeping the old Mastertone for sentimental sake, although the Ode will give it a run for the money sound wise!
I finally found a local guy to play it and the sound just blew me (and him) away! He would have bought it but he just spent some serious $$ on a banjo and couldn't swing it!
This banjo is absolutely gorgeous and I would rate it a solid 9.5+ out of 10.
I cannot bring myself to ship it (heard too many horror stories) but I will consider driving a "reasonable" distance to meet halfway if that would help out.
I can take and send some more photos to a serious buyer if desired.
