Bart Reiter Grand Concert Internal Resonator Banjo, 1992, serial #883. $3750 includes ground shipping CONUS. Buyer pays Paypal fee or use "Friends and Family."
Internal resonator with 8 F-holes, maple neck with center stripe, maple resonator and 11” rim, tortoise shell binding, ebony fingerboard, peghead, and heel cap. Flowerpot inlay in peghead, scroll at first fret, star at fifth fret. Checkerboard purfling on inside of resonator. 24 brackets. Bacon style tone ring. Original Weatherking plastic head. Fingerboard scooped by Bart Reiter from fret 18-22. Railroad spike installed at fret 7 by Bart. Custom ordered Harptone hard shell case in mint condition. Currently has Presto tailpiece, Moon bridge and vintage-style wire arm rest. They will remain on the banjo and I will include the original bridge and original Waverly tailpiece.
I am original owner. Incredibly clean, Excellent condition, minimal signs of use. NO REPAIRS. Some light finish crazing on bottom of resonator and on neck. The crazing is very common on older Reiter banjos. One tiny smudge on tip of peghead. See photos. MINIMAL SIGNS OF USE, and indeed I have babied this banjo for the 28 years I have owned it. Frets are excellent ++.
Why so expensive? Bart hasn't offered internal resonator models for years, and you WILL NOT find one in cleaner original condition. These are incredible Openback Banjos, and this is a collector's item for sure.
