RARE & Mint Condition- 50th Anniversary Stanleytone Banjo. Last played by Ralph Stanley in 2004! This is number 18 of the limited edition 50 made in 1984 by the Legendary Frank Neat in Kentucky. I purchased this directly from Ralph Stanley following his Clinch Mountain Boys show on July 17, 2004 in Big Sky, Montana. This masterpiece is made of curly maple and has beautiful mother of pearl inlay throughout the neck and head, elaborate gold engraving, with a hand painted portrait of the legend himself on the back of the resonator. It was signed by Dr. Stanley following the concert. I had to meet with his crew the following morning before they moved onto the next show because he accidentally gave me his personal shoulder strap with the banjo! I still have the original check endorsed by Dr. Stanley and the concert ticket. I put this away in my safe 16 years ago and have only handled it only a few times since- I've never played it. It is in immaculate condition and is still in its original hard case with a beautiful blue velvet interior. It's time for this rare gem to find a new home with someone who will cherish its beauty, amazing sound, craftsmanship, and history. Feel free to reach out for additional pictures or to make an offer. I'm offering it for sale at the same price that I paid for it just to speed up the process. Thank you.
