well if you are into unusual instruments then you have found a couple!!....these were both built by edward hagan from socorro new mexico......these 2 instruments were featured on his website sdc.org/~acahay/index.html in the instrument display tab (website currently not active) .....they were both bought by the same person from mr hagan ......the name of the company is "THE 4 F COMPANY FINE FIDDLES BY THE FLYING FARMERS" ...this fiddle is called the fish fiddle ...i don't play fiddle so i wouldn't know sound/playability comparisons against other fiddles..the mandolin is called the fish mandolin..the mandolin is not a very loud mandolin and is probably not very suited for bluegrass and would perform it's best if it has a pickup in it....these will come in a rectangular case not made for these but will give some protection....they are both in excellent condition.....these are being offered together as they were both bought and owned by the same person when bought new......i have an email from mr hagan stating that these would cost somewhere between $3000.00 to $5000.00 each to duplicate and probably closer to $5000.00 each ..possible trades for banjos/guitars/mandolins/upright bass?..any questions? feel free to ask,thanks......UPDATE..... i have been informed that the website mentioned in the listing is no longer up and running so i am unsure how further information can be obtained about these instruments.
