This is a great looking & sounding tenor banjo from the Baldwin/Ode Company. It was produced in 1968 in Boulder, Colorado. This is model "TR2" which stood for "Tenor (or 4 string banjo) - Style 2". This banjo has a brand new 11 inch LITE archtop head. There are 19 frets and the neck from nut to pot is 15 and 1/2". This model has Ode 4-1 ratio geared tuning pegs and a Waverly style tailpiece which has the ODE emblem on it . The neck is hand-carved Peruvian mahogany laminated with one rosewood and 2 maple center stripes . The fretboard and peghead are rosewood.There is an adjustable truss rod built into the neck whish has access in the heel. All the metal parts are nickle plated and there are 24-bracket tension hoops which are made of heavy brass. There is a also a heavy brass archtop tension hoop and, of course, the trademark cast-aluminum pot/rim . The wooden resonator is walnut and it has ivoroid binding on both the top and bottom edge. The serial number inside the pot is "2TR 899-G". Lot includes a faux-fur hardshell case with one "gimpy" latch and a new set of D'Addario nickle-plated tenor banjo strings.
