Unique Yates 5 string banjo. All maple is torrified, giving it a cracking tone. Rosewood Fingerboard. Closest to Yate's Granada 558 style (see link.) The hardware, however, is simple chrome and not engraved. 'Bob's special' is inlaid at the 21st fret. Warren made this banjo for a friend.
Torrifying wood has been mostly used in the guitar world, but Yates has tried this a few times as I understand, and the result is great. It's warm but focused and leaves nothing on the table.
I've agreed to sell this banjo for a friend. It hasn't been with me long but I've gotten really fond of it, playing it a lot - with care. It stands head and shoulders above anything else I've got. It's just great and I'm going to be happy to see this find a good home.
All hardware, wood and finish... EVERYTHING, in mint condition. Shines and plays beautifully.
Sorry, it's not mine, so I can't accept returns. Please be sure before you buy. That said, take as long as you like to put it through its paces. For serious interest, I will drive to meet you anywhere within a 1-2 hr radius.
