Up for sale is a 1926 TB-3 5-string conversion! The pot is mostly original except for one thumb screw, and the tail piece. A newer neck from a small builder features a style 1 inlay pattern. It can be set up with a Sullivan cast bronze flat head Ball Bearing Conversion ring, for those who want the classic bluegrass sound, or it can be set up in its original configuration - a multi-part brass tone ring suspended on 40 ballbearings and springs, which is well suited for fingerstyle, clawhammer, melodic, old-time, accompanying singing, etc. It's really one of the most versatile types of banjos out there, and they haven't been made since 1926 because it's too labor-intensive to make them.
Comes with a fresh set up and a hard case. Don’t miss out on this 94 year old Prewar Mastertone!! Loud but sweet, full of dynamic range and expressivity.
