After a bit of research, I have lowered the price on the banjo. For Sale - One that you don't see too often, a Flint Hill Special in the blonde configuration. This banjo is as clean as can be for over 20 years old - I just don't believe it was played very often. Very little / minimal fret wear, no dings, scratches, belt buckle rash, issues or any of that other undesirable stuff going on. The neck and rim are the light blonde maple; the resonator is maple also, but NOT blonde, I have no idea if that is original to this instrument or not, but the resonator is also nearly mint. The engraving on the tension hoop appears to be style 6, the flange is also engraved. When I got this banjo it had a broken tailpiece, that has been replaced. The tailpiece plating is quite worn, but otherwise is fine. (the cover is nearly perfect) I also put the armrest on it - as the original was missing. It was also missing 2 of the peghead tuners. The two that were on the banjo had MOP buttons. I replaced the 2 missing tuners and used plastic pearloid buttons on all 5 of the tuners, so as to have them all match. MOP or Abalone truss rod cover engraved "Flint Hill Special."
The banjo has pearl nuts, both at the peghead and the fifth string pip.
Fancy abalone trim, all gold hardware, it currently has a Pre EPA remo head on it, A Davis bridge, and spikes at A and B. It plays and sounds like a million bucks. Kulesh "Gibson USA" tone ring. If I read the serial number correct this banjo is from 1997 - the number is FH 97 - XX. The banjo comes housed in reproduction Prewar Redline Case. Pics going up momentarily, and let the bidding war begin. Any questions fire me off an email. Additional pics can be sent, and all questions will be answered promptly. As with most things I post - the price may be negotiable a bit, contact me and we'll haggle some.
