Classic Gibson RB-100 Resonator 5-String Banjo. Featuring its original tuners, including Pittman D-tuners, and its original Lifton case. Estimated as 1965/66 based on its serial number.
The mahogany neck and body are solid, there is almost no fret wear. There are some finish dings on the peghead and a couple small spots on the neck where the finish is scraped.
The resonator is in great condition and just lovely! The flamed maple back shines as do the mahogany sides.
The rosewood fingerboard has little wear on the frets and fret wires are defect free as well. Railroad spikes have been installed for the 5th string on the 7th, 9th, 10th and 12th frets.
The tailpiece is a nickel plated Presto. The head is a Huber medium crown head. This head emulates older Remo heads (i.e. pre-EPA ) by featuring a thicker frosting.
Overall, this is a clean classic bluegrass machine that's ready for years of picking! This has been set-up with JD Crowe Signature GHS strings.
