Here's a prewar project that has turned out fantastic. This banjo has ALL prewar wood...even the neck. This 3-ply rim and resonator are from F.O.N. 8523-45 a Gibson Style 1 from 1926. The walnut neck wood was harvested in the early 40's and has been air drying ever since. Eric Sullivan crafted the neck with "flying eagle" inlay and Robin Smith did all of the final fit and finish. I also had Robin add front binding to the resonator which turned out great. At the heart of this banjo is a Jerry Sloan 20-hole flathead tone ring. All of the hardware is new nickel plated Prucha. The neck has 5th string spikes at the 7th and 9th frets and has new Gotoh tuners and a 5-Star 5th peg.
This banjo is extremely responsive and with all prewar wood has volume and tone to spare. Ships in a new hard case FREE!
