This is a small traveleable five string banjo, slightly smaller than a Piccolo banjo. It started its life as a Banjo Ukulele in the 1920's. After major surgery, it is transformed into what I call a "Piccolele"(rhymes with Ukulele) as a confluence of Piccolo and Ukulele banjos.
This one is a Buckbee originally, and has the distinctive Buckbee pearhead headstock. It is mated with a wood rim and a rolled brass tone ring with a calfskin head. This is a nice clawhammer player as a consequence of the wider neck.
Mother of pearl dots and star. Length = 21.25 in Rim = 7 in Scale = 13 in
Nice well fitting new gig bag included.

I am thinning out my collection of 100+ little banjos(< 24in ). Some wll be restored as original and others will become small five stringers, either Piccoleles, as this one, or Piccolo banjos.
