For sale is this 1931 Vega Style "N" tenor banjo which is in good condition. There are 19 frets on the ebony fretboard. Neck and pot appear to be maple. The dowel in the pot identifies the company (Vega) and the model (Style N). The serial number 97882 appears in the pot which dates this as 1931. There are 26 brackets (a few don't match the originals). The tailpiece is a Kershner style. The ivory nut is about 1.25 inches. The Vega name and star appear at the top of the headstock. The resonator had a nice inlay in it at one time but that appears to be mostly gone. There is the old fashioned Vega style arm rest on the pot. The banjo strap has an eye catching Celtic design. There are position dot markers at the 5th, 7th, 10th, 12th and 15th fret on the fretboard and on the side of the neck. This instrument has been great for playing Celtic music when I was not using my mandolin. Please see the photos for details. There is no banjo case but the instrument will be shipped in a well protected used guitar case.
